Releasing panels are not to be confused with any other type of fire panel.  Releasing panels are designed to receive a signal (manual or from a smoke or fire detector) and cause the release of the fire extinguishing agent such as Halon FM 200 FE 241 or 3M Novec in a room and extinguish the fire.  Fire alarm panels receive a signal and sound the alarm.  A releasing panel can be connected to a fire alarm panel.
