There are 2 or more ways of recovering dissolved silver from nitric acid. One way is using table salt or stannous chloride crystals, BUT, there IS a really EASY way to do it. Just use a piece of copper metal suspended in the acid. This allows the silver and copper molecules to exchange places in the acid. The copper dissolves into the nitric and deposits the silver molecules onto the surface of the copper. Once you start seeing the powdery substance starting to form on the surface of the copper, give it a shake to allow the powder mud settle to the bottom of your container. Once you get that settled to the bottom of the container, you pour off the acid, wash in distilled water and melt into nuggets. This tends to be far easier for most people vs using the salt and karo.
have fun and be sure to VOTE for me in this as a positive!!!
