Some people love the daily grind of working for other people. Me, I'm more of a free spirit. I love working but I like to be in charge of my hours, time and income goals. Once I made the choice, I had NO IDEA I'd reduce workplace stress, improve my health and general outlook. But I did....thanks to Ebay. Self-employment and freelancing , stress reduction
HERE'S HOW EBAY CAN LOWER WORKPLACE STRESS :
Working on Ebay seems less a job to be and more of a stress reducing technique. Think about it:
1. Casual Friday? It can be every day if you wish! Wear what you like, jeans, tee shirts, etc. Get comfortable. I think it makes it so much easier to list, ship and pack while not running around in high heels or a business suit. Result: less stress and far more comfort. And, of course, you can have your friendly companion by your side:
2. Ability to be there for emergencies: I work this job around my family. They come first. Soccer games, school recitals, doctor's appointments. I go to those. I don't have to fill out a form or explain to my boss why I need the extra time. I just work around it. Result: Less stress and no pressure from a dissatisfied boss who expects total commitment and sacrifice at all costs.
3. You can work during the night if need be: This, of course, relates to setting your own hours. But few workplaces allow employees to be set there own schedule - whether it is 9 a.m to 5 p.m - or , for night owls, 5 p.m to 9 a.m. With Ebay, you can list when you want, work around your peak energy levels and set the auctions to start when you want. Your auctions could be starting as you sleep peacefully in your bed.
4. Ability to network with other Ebayers on a variety of topics: In between listing, shipping and packing, I make a point of checking in with fellow Ebayers, some of whom have been here since I started, many years ago.
Chat rooms
No matter what time of night it is, I find there is usually someone around to help solve a problem, lend a suggestion or just chat, especially since Ebay has bidders from all over the world. It can be late at night here while it is still normal daylight hours elsewhere. So explore the Community section of Ebay. You'll find a lot of help and info there, everything from Blog links to Discussion forums and Groups focused on specific topics :
Community links on Ebay
5. Not having to put up with annoying co-workers: In an office, you might be sitting next to someone who plays loud music, gossips on the phone or has other annoying habits. You usually have to put up with it or figure out a solution. At home, you can chat with whoever you want in the Ebay community, all while sitting in your PJs if you like. If you haven't yet made the transition I suggest you read books on these topics : difficult people
6.Not having to get in the car every morning, fight traffic, pay for gas and follow a set routine. Result? : Again, less stress.
