Vinyl Records:

Are they a forgotten now past music media. ??? Some would say its a media formate that. Has seen its glory days come and go.  Other's will protect the very media as if it was a living , breathing child.  While other have no idea what a Vinyl Record is. They may have seen them in " There parents living room ". Its really hard to say. If records have seen there " Glory days ". I do know as long as there are DJ's and people who lived from 1960 to 1999 alive. Records will have a piece of are hearts.

One thing to remember is. Alot of time the complete orginal is not offered on CD formate. They cut away time from the songs. So they can get more songs on a disk.

Personally I cant get away from the sound. There is nothing that sound more pure and real. Than the sound of a needle going around on a record player.

Record Companys:

A&M Records : 1963 - 2000  A&M records was one of the largest record. Production and recording companys. Up to the mid to late 1990. They still hold some of the rarest recording's. That have never been released. Company guidelines state they havent received the aproval to relaes the tracks.

ABC Paramount : 1955 - 1979  ABC is one of the most mismanaged record companys ever. They not only lost 300 studio masters. They actual destroyed 6000 plus studio masters from a storage. Company because they need a new janitoral room and break room for dock workers. In 1973 ABC spent 2 million dollars to redesign the company logo. To be used on record and 8 tracks. It was not only " Childish " in design. 80% of the first run lables had to be tossed out because the three simple letters couldnt be read.

ABC Dunhill : 1974 -1979  The best thing ABC ever did was walk away from Dunhill records. Thinking the comapny was a " Costly venture ". They walked away just in time for Dunhill records. To pull off the greatest upset in 30 years. The signing of top artist and the Gold record sales of the Moma and Papa's. Along with other's

ACE : 1955 - 1963  Very different record company. Small but was happy to fill a spot that was passed up by the big boy's.

ALADDIN : 1950 - 1958  Belive to have produced there final record in 1958. Most cant seem to be able to agree on the actual. End of the company. Because they just closed the doors. Never really telling anyone. That they were out of business. Later after the building was sold. Blank master disc's were sold off to other companys. Most changed the numbers on them. A few made in out to storage with production number stock number for Aladdin.

ARISTA : 1974 - 1996  Well knowen for there. released " budget line " records of the beatles and Madonna and other artist. Few remember the artist signed to the actual lable. Morris day & the time. Along with others who went on to fame around the world. later as Record sales slipped in the U.S market Arista went Internationally to stay in business.

APPLE : 1967 - 1976  I dont care nor does any real collector. Care what George Harrison says. The comapny started in1967 and stopped in 1976. He would like the world belive the company ended production in 1975. Artist signed to the lable know they were still making there album's.

ARGO : 1956 - 1965  Not much information on this company is knowen.

ASYLUM : 1972 - 1997  A very sound and well run company from day one. Not much credit is given to them. For there break through's in production excellence. One of the first companys to every use the " Electric mastering programs "

ATCO : 1955 - 1985  A sad and sudden end to a very good company. Best knowen for there work with AC/DC and Ashley and other international stars. Who later became smash hits in the U.S.

ATLANTIC : 1951 - Present  thats right they are still making records. They have a subcontract with other lable like MGM and others to reproduce the works on other lables.

BANG : 1966 - 1982  Released the works of the Rolling Stones and Neil Diamond and Other great stars. Very colleted in todays market.

BARNABY : 1970 - 1979  Produce mainly religon records and folk music.

BELL : 1954 - 1974  Started off as a " Cheap " retail version of top hits. production and sound never came up to industry standards

BIG-TOP : 195? - ??   Very limited information is knowen about company.

BIG - BOPPER : 1957 - 1957  Only 4 records are knowen to be out there from this company. All were released works of artist that. Were signed to other lables

BIG TREE : 1970 - 1981  Cost over runs did this company in from the start.

B.I Z : 1948 - 1954  Later sold out to Casablanca records

BRUNSWICK : 1950 - 1976  Alot of us in the record collecting world wished they would of stuck it out just a little longer.

BUDDAH : 1967 - 1986  Smart and invetive company. That took studio jam sessions a step farther. Using the songs as uncut reales work. Selling millions more. With this smart edition to the normal catalog of songs sold in any given year.

CADENCE : 1953 - 1964  Julius La Rosa Record company. High quality recordings of some of the. Top artist of the 1950's and 1960's

CADET : 1965 - 1971 Then 1972 - 1976  They actually stopped production for 8 months. While they tried to restructor there debt to the companys they owed money to. VERY high quality records produced at low prices. They did use lower quality Viynl stock toward the end of the production year of 1976

CANADIAN - AMERICA 1959 - 1961   Then they bcame CAAM records.  Low quality recordings and low quality vinyl stock.

CANADIAN - AMERICA DBR 1961 - 1965 made attempts to put together a company that was worth. The effort. They fell short yet again on production numbers and talentand on quality of products. Very cheaply use lables and jackets. Alot were orginally belived to be " bootleg " copies. Until retail stores found out they were what the company was manufactoring.

CAPITAL : 1949 - 1998 Then 1998 - Present  very limited production in 1998. they closed down to move production out of the U.S. The giant is still making records. Mostly reproductions of items they released in the 1960 to 1990.

CASABLACA U.S : 1974 - 1988  High quality , Very highly collected , Super amount of rare early talent signed to Casabanca U.S records.

CHANCELLOR : 1958 - 1964  Wonderful record company. saddly ended way before there time. Loaded with early talent that was grabed up by the big boys in the business. When they closed there doors.

CHESS : 1951 - 1975  They would be here today if it wasnt for bad luck and a untimely death of there top star. High quality records and excellent sound production. High quality Vinyl made them a true winner. Highly collected today and in the future

CHECKER : 1952 - 1965

CHRYSALIS : 1972 - 1996  A idea that back fired on the owners and founders. Was never meant to be a front runner in the record indurstry. was meant as a way to offer a lower cost record at high quality to customers. Problems started right away with the signing of blondie. tey belive she might move around 1 million total full length and singles per year. She sold 9 million the first year. which the company was not ready for.

CORAL: 1951 - 1970  very limited information is knowen about the company

CORAL VISITA  1980 - 1982  Sold high quality records for other companys. Was mainly a behind the action player. But tried there hand at the whole game and failed in less than 2 years.

CRYANS Ent : 1974 - 1974 Another of those Botleg companys that sold millions of bootleged concert lp's. High quality and High quality lables and jackets. They were just all illegal recordings.

CZ RECORDS : 1963 - 1969 was jointly owened by the major record lable RCA and by the late Boo Wilter. The producer for the Rocket's and other 60-'s disco records.

Because of space we cant list all 89 record companys. We can and will happy answer question you may have if you wish to contact us. Keep in mind all the ones listed above are all U.S record companys. From 1940 to 1999 there were 13,544 record companys world wide. Some record companys used 4 or 5 lables and names for the same item. Like AC/DC highway to hell.
