- 1 cup dried navy beans
- 1 qt cold water
- 2 tbsp diced onion
- 1 cup evaporated milk
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp celery salt
- dash pepper
- 2 tbsp grated carrot - optional
Wash beans, cover with water, let stand overnight. Drain off water & discard.
Add 1 qt of cold water & onion, cover, simmer about 1 1/2 to 2hrs or until beans are soft. Put through food mill, return to cooking kettle, add milk, seasoning and carrot. Reheat.
