RECALL NOTICE

Recently I was searching for an OEM part number for my Dixon ZTR5020 riding lawn mower. During my search I found that several of their mowers were on a recall , 28 thousand to be exact. These mowers fuel tanks can crack and leak, leading to fire and possible property damage and injury.My mower was on the recall list and I had never received notification even though Dixon had my information from my warrenty registration. The recall was announced in March 2002 and includes the following mowers:

The model number is located on the body of the mower, usually below the seat on the front. The serial number is located on the rear of the mower frame, behind the motor on a metal plate.

These mowers were sold nation wide from July 1997 through March 2002. If you own one of them, contact your local Dixon dealer for a free replacement fuel tank. If you are considering purchasing a Dixon on Ebay, ask for the model and serial numbers to verify if they are on the recall list or if they have been repaired.

These mowers sold for between $2500and $7400. That is quite an investment to allow to go up in smoke.
