If you have any vintage STAR WARS space vehicles, chances are their old press-on glossy decals are starting to peel off. If this is the case, take heart O My Space Brother; they are easily reapplied.
Here's what you do: (1) buy a jar of RUBBER CEMENT at any art supply shop or Kmart, Jewel Store, or WalMart, etc.. (2) Apply a THIN, EVEN coat of rubber cement (using the brush attached to the bottle cap) to BOTH the back of the peeling decal AND to the surface you need the decal to stick to. (3) LET GLUE DRY COMPLETELY; DO NOT ATTEMPT TO RE-ATTACH THE DECAL AT THIS POINT. Read on... (4) After glue has DRIED COMPLETELY, carefully smooth the decal back into place, working outward from the center to the edges. The dried cement will stick to itself! Smooth the decal down slowly to avoid bubbles and creases. (5) After the decal has been reapplied, rub off any excess cement with your fingertip. It will come off easily, like...well, like dried rubber cement. (6) Blast off! And may the Force be with you, Blue Leader!
PS: This technique can also be used to stick on any press-on decals that have fallen off and lost their stickiness. Just be sure to coat BOTH the back of the decal AND the surface it will stick to. Now, GET STICKIN'.
