Reasons Why You Should Use Ebay's My Messages.

     After becoming an ebay powerseller I started to face new problems.  One of them seems to be buyers not getting the emails I send them and vice versa.  In this guide I will explain some problems that I have faced as well as resolutions and will update it as I encounter new obstacles.

     Paypal sends an email to the seller to let them know that you have paid.  I get way too many payments to open them all and read notes from the buyer so I often miss notes from the buyer.  As a buyer you must realize this.  If you are buying from a seller who sells a lot you should use ebay's messaging syestem before you leave notes to the seller on your paypal invoice.

     Paypal also sends an email to the buyer to let them know that they have paid.  Sometimes buyers reply to this email.  I get so many spoof ebay and paypal emails I decided to create a new email address for communication and leave the old one for paypal.  I don't check it very often because it is for paypal payments and I shouldn't be receiving important emails through it.  So as a buyer it is important to use ebay's messaging system and not to reply to the paypal receipt.

     Another problem I encountered was some emails sent would not be received.  This happened because I sent them from my email account rather than through ebay.  They probably went into a bulk email or spam folder.  Therefore I must recommend that you use the ebay messaging system for all communication.  Make sure that you check your bulk/ spam email folder when communicating and before you leave uncessary bad feedback.

     This is a situation where I did not receive emails.  There was a buyer who sent me 4 - 8 emails that I did not receive.  None of them.  They were all sent through ebay so I should have got them.   Right?  Not this time.  It was an international buyer from ebay Canada.  They accidentally signed in to ebay US and the email went through.  So watch out for this one.  If you are having problems communicating with an international buyer or seller, try logging onto ebay from their location.  Such as ebay.ca (Canada) & ebay.uk.
