Unfortunately, there are a lot of fake True Religion Jeans being sold on ebay. It is up to each buyer to do their research to protect themselves from being a victim of a seller selling such items. This guide provides some simple guidelines and tips to help buyers authenticate True Religion Jeans on ebay using pictures posted by the seller.

First, evaluate the seller. I would recommend only buying True Religion denim from experienced sellers with a good feedback record. By experienced, I mean a seller with a minimum of 100 or so feedbacks with 98% or better positive feedback rating. Read the feedback profile and look for comments indicating if a buyer received counterfeit merchandise from the seller. Also, look at the seller's items for sale. Be cautious of a seller with many "New with Tag" listings. Counterfeiters often sell their jeans with a fake price tag attached to the jeans. Why? If True Religion allowed retailers and distributors to liquidate or sell their merchandise with the price tags attached, this would allow a buyer to buy True Religions on ebay, if they are real, and then return them to a department store for full retail price claiming a lost receipt. Thus, price tags are either removed or stamped/marked before liquidated.

Next, evaluate the jeans. In general, take a look at the quality of the garment. True Religion Jeans are some of the finest jeans ever made. The stitching should be impeccible, the denim should be well broken in and soft, and the jeans should have a tailored fit. Below are some pictures comparing authentic True Religion Jeans to counterfeit ones.

First, I would like to draw your attention to the shape of the horseshoe on the back pocket. On the real pair, the shape is clearly a horseshoe shape. On the fake pair, the shape looks more like a smiley face. On some counterfeit pairs, the horseshoe looks like a "U." On True Religion styles such as Joey and Billy, there is a western-style flap over the back and coin pockets. This is an area where the counterfeiters often mess up. It is obvious in this side-by-side comparison that the flap on the pockets feature a dramatic curve on both sides coming to a point in the middle. The counterfeit pairs often lack this curvature. The same is true for the coin pocket as depicted in the pictures below:

Once again, the fake pair does not have any curvature on the flap over the coin pocket. Also note the difference in the size of the rivets. The real True Religions have large rivets versus the fake ones having smaller rivets.

These are just a few tips to help buyers authenticate True Religion Jeans. I hope this helps some of you folks out there looking to buy True Religion Jeans on ebay. There is nothing like the original when it comes to True Religion!
