My favorite books these days are contemporary romance novels. I have found Luanne Rice's books to be very entertaining. I start reading her books and it's as if her characters become my friends, I feel so close to them. When I finish her books, I am sad because it's as though I'll be saying goodbye to friends. Among my favorite books of hers are Cloud Nine, The Secret Hour, Beach Girls and Safe Harbor. But honestly, I have not read a single book written by Luanne Rice that I didn't like. You feel so enriched reading about her popular "Hubbard's Point" locations, familiar sailing themes, and you get some steamy romance thrown in now and then, too. Her stories involve families and friends, told in a way that leaves you very fulfilled.
The same holds true for popular author, Fern Michaels. Her novels are always easy to get into, full of interesting characters and even a cute pooch or cat thrown in for some extra love. Again, there's some romance, but the story is always so fascinating, it's almost like you don't need the romance. Some of my favorite books by Fern Michaels are Picture Perfect, Crown Jewel, Weekend Warriors, Payback and Vendetta (these last 3 are in the new "Sisterhood Series"). Again, every book I have read by Michaels has been fun, exciting and hard to put down.
The last of the authors I want to share is Susan Elizabeth Phillips. She weaves a fantastic tale, no matter which of her books you might happen to pick up. Honey Moon is an amazing tale and so believable. Dream A Little Dream is an extraordinary story you don't want to end. Match Me If You Can is a great book about a young woman who inherits a matchmaking business. Phillips writes fabulous books, leaving the reader feeling happy and entertained.
I read three or four books at a time and always have a book with me. I haunt various branches of the public library, thrift stores, used bookstores and, of course, EBay for my books. There are always a few hard-to-find books and it never fails that they'll be right there on eBay when I log on! My other favorite place to shop is Half.com.
