Beckett Baseball Price Guide Editor, Brian Fleischer is reporting that New York dealer Ted Straka, of TNT Sportscards, has discovered two previously unannounced cards in the recently released 2007 Topps Update product.
The preliminary checklist catalogs card #100 as Philadelphia Phillies third basemen Abraham Nunez. While Nunez is indeed card #100, Straka pulled a Jacoby Ellsbury card featuring the MLBPA Rookie Logo which is also card #100.
In addition, Straka pulled a "Poley Walnuts" card #SQ1 featuring the squirrel that became famous for routinely appearing on the Yankee Stadium right field foul pole throughout the 2007 season.
Both cards appear to be extremely difficult pulls, with odds possibly comparable to the 2006 Topps shortprint releases of Alay Soler, card #RC1 and the infamous Alex Gordon release, card #297.
To date, Straka and his team of employees have busted 10 hobby and 10 jumbo cases and have only pulled one example of each card.
