At Home:
1. Try to save money at the grocery store.
- lower, lower/middle class households revert to buying groceries from local convenient stores in lieu of going to a Grocery super center chain, because of transportation problems etc. Families will often pay 200% and more at the corner store for the same goods at Walmart. If you cannot make it to the grocery store too often. Get food that has a long shelf life so that you don't have to spend too many trips at the convenient store.
- Instead of buying cerials by big brands such as: Kellogs, try grocery store brands i.e: Malt-o-Meal.You get a lot more cerial with an easy to close zip-lock bag. You will notice a substantial difference in your pricing bill.
- Avoid going to Gas-Stations for any food/drinks etc. as it is almost always cheaper to go to Thrift stores such as Walmart, Sam's Club, Albertsons etc. They are the same quality stuff I guarantee it and easier to store.
- Superstores such as Walmart should be one of your first picks when you decide to buy virtually anything.
- Save coupons, you never know when you may need them.
- Look at Sam's Club and see how eBay has bulk items: Shaving cream, soap, toiletries etc. These are items you will need forever so it doesn't hurt to get them at wholesale.
- At the grocery store they usually have nice little double packs for deodorant and whatnot.
- Please compare prices, you can't possibly get everything you need on ebay, but you would me more than surprised to know that you can get good quality products from reputable sellers at a great price. A seller with a good rating is practically just as good as a retail store for I'd like to say, "all intents and purposes."
- Buy some energy saving fluorescent light bulbs.
- Obtain a gas dryer instead of electric, or just "hang your clothes on a clothesline"
3. You can find good deals on electronics.
- There are various computers and other electronics sold on eBay, TigerDirect, NewEgg with good warantees. But please, only buy what you need.
- I know this has been said a lot lately on the internet. But as recent news keeps appearing on yahoo I thought I might as well mention it.
- DO NOT BUY BOTTLED WATER. It starts with you, bottled water apparently sells for 3x as much as gas. The research is showing that municipal water in the US is under heavy regulation that bottled water companies just do not have. Notice how there are no ingredients listed for bottled water companies, however municipal water standards can be found all of the internet. It's amazing, you can get it for free, and society provides it to us... as though it was our right as humans to have clean water HAHA all of you people that drink bottled water. I've been right my whole life
