Bruce's Field Camera Store became the US importer of Rollei sheet films about 3 years ago. We tested the films extensively and felt that they, especially the R3 film, were very good. In fact R# was the best B&W film we had used. Unfortunately about a year later we were having problems with the film. There were apparently technical defects in some of the shipments. In addition the manufacturer, or should I say producer, did not make the film. It seems that the film was not made by Rollei at all, but produced in a few different European factories. The world wide distributer, Maco, was very unresponsive to the technical problems with the film, blaming them on the users. Maco was also prone to shipping short dated film and they lied about the product. For these reasons we discontinued importing the film about a year later. We should add that neither the roll or 35mm versions of this film had problems, and none of the other Maco films, including the Rollei infrared has given us technical problems, which occurred with R3 sheet film only.
