Everybody wants one but only 10% of the population can really afford one. Why? Because this watch is a status symbol of achievement,its not only expensive to buy but expensive to maintain. Rolex Genuine Parts are not cheap. For example,a bezel change on a GMT Master will run $175.00 and has to be exactly the same color or a Rolex Dealer cannot change it. If you send your Rolex in for repair to an authorized facility and it has aftermarket parts,they'll send it back,untouched. A total overhaul with bracelet refinishment can run 300-450 dollars from a watchmaker,Rolex could run 475-500 dollars and take weeks. Anyway,buying online has its downfalls,a picture is not always worth a thousand words. Example,I bought a advertised "Brand New,Never Worn" Rolex Explorer 1 from a seller in Washington,only had 1 photo and it looked good,communicated with seller before sale,everythings a go...Right...Wrong...what arrived was a 9 year old beat up Explorer 1 with 3 missing links,no paper,tags,etc and a phony receipt with the sellers handwriting. Seller denies everything now I have to fight for a full refund. Another story,a 4 year old Submariner,seller bought it for her boyfriend,he doesnt wear it,etc,etc,....sent a Hong Kong Quartz Rolex you can buy in ChinaTown...Buyer Beware..it takes time to hunt these crooks down,get the phone number,address,etc and make sure they offer a refund guarantee..PayPal takes forever and holds up your funds and the site warns you of deceptive sellers on my average 3 days too late,maybe after you made the purchase..Comunication is everything,know your seller,ask questions,if they dont respond,dont buy. Its your money. Take caution with eCheck,you have no recourse if the seller doesnt send the item,only through PayPal are you covered for up to $2000.00,theres some great sellers,great buys,wonderful Rolexs out there,but,BUYER BEWARE,trust is earned,these people are total strangers its up to you to get to know them,if they dont want you to pass on the auction.
