This is a tip from my Mom - use distilled white vinegar in your laundry rinse and toss out all those fabric softeners. Once you have tried natural vinegar you will never revert back to a fabric softerner of any sort-liquid or the dryer type. Vinegar is cheap - about 2.50 or less for a huge bottle and will last a long time through may loads of laundry - there is no smell to your clothes and it removes any soap residue, your clothes will never have that itchy feeling, there won't be any odor to your clean clothes except a natural smell and it greatly reduces wrinkles. That is all we use for our laundry. The best buy we have found is at Cosco or Walmart. Heniz and Walmart's brand. I have the front loading washer and I use about 1/4-1/2 cup per load-my Mom has the top loading and uses about 1/2 cup or more per load. My Mother also says there is a great book out on the wonderful vast uses of vinegar (there may be some listed on Ebay - I didn't check) and apple cider vinegar works wonders for bug bites to help them heal fast and to alleviate the itching. And what to do with those left over dryer fabric sheets - stick them in your pocket when you are outside to help keep the mosquitos at bay (some seem to work better than others)-we buy them only for that purpose.
