This Guide discusses one type of alcohol based diffuser. If you want to replicate Alora or just want a handy reference, we provide the main ingredients and some notes about this product. Much of this guide is what the manufacturer writes about their product. We do not sell this diffuser. We have just got back from Lake Como where this diffuser was created, though.

Reed diffusers are essentially perfume. Perfume can be an oil..like the Eqyptians perfume oils, and thus a higher percent of  fragrance... or can be a spray..& thus mostly alcohol. Perfume is 80 to 90% alcohol (or other dispersant) and thus only 10 to 20% fragrance.  Look it up. If you read the fine print, Alora as an alcohol based, smells strong for a few days..then the alcohol goes away, the product gets thick..and yuck. They do not offer refills..because you need to clean the yucky bottle real well.

Alora Ambiance is one type of diffuser, the formula is alcohol based.  Thus perfume OIL instead of an alcohol based formula may be a smarter buy..People Just THINK the alcohol scents are stronger. Size does not indicate value. The amount of actual perfume (i.e. essential oils or fragrance) matters..other ingredients are used to preserve fragrance or disperse scent.

If label says flammable or ground ship only, that is a strong indicator of alcohol.

If you want to replicate Alora or just want a handy reference here are the main ingredients (and later some notes about their product). 

Perfumer alcohol is hard to come by. We have five gallons and have never opened it. Have not even finished the first litre the alternative..red grain alcohol..153 proof. And I've made a few thousand diffusers...and bottles of refill oil. You can make an oil based replica. We do not tell our formula, but the internet says a combo of alcohol and oil is best. We agree. Some alcohol is good. You coudl add perfume..but most home stuff like colognes have water...and oil and water do not mix. There are products (Tween) you can use but they have to be individually titrated til just mixed. They can cloud, etc.

ROSA  A limited-edition fragrance composed of alcohol and a lovely mix of rose and musk.

UNO A light and floral fragrance composed of alcohol and a mixture of  lemon, orange, basil, jasmine, rose, muguet, sandalwood, musk and honey.

DUE  A fresh and clean fragrance composed of alcohol and a mixture of jasmine, cucumber, beech, rose musk, vanilla, cedarwood, basil, and ylang ylang. 

TRE A warm and earthy fragrance composed of alcohol and a mixture of orange, grape, pine, raspberry, rose, mandarin, vanilla, amber and heliotrope.

ISOLA A delicate and uplifting fragrance composed of alcohol and a mixture of gardenia, tuberose, and fig.

BIMBI A calming and citrusy fragrance composed of alcohol and a mixture of lavender, chamomile, bergamot, and rose.

VERDE (means green) A clean and grassy fragrance composed of alcohol and a mixture of fresh green notes, melon, tonka bean, and jasmine.

CALDO A warm and woodsy fragrance composed of alcohol and a mixture of amber, patchouli, sandalwood, and vetiver.

BELLA A soft and floral fragrance composed of alcohol and a mixture of lemon, ylang ylang, and ginger root.

Festa...orange spice..cinnamon and bitter orange.

Alora Ambiance products are considered hazardous materials due to the alcohol in their fragrances and therefore air shipments are not possible.  The fragrance is a combination of alcohol and essential oils and if spilled, will damaged finished surfaces. Do not place near open flame.

ALORA AMBIANCE DIFFUSER FAQ

Are refills available?  NO.

ALORA AMBIANCE  does not offer refills for two reasons. First, after using one bottle of fragrance the sticks are completely saturated and will not wick additional bottles. Second, pouring a new bottle of fragrance into an old bottle may alter the fragrance. 

Why doesn't my diffuser smell as strong as it used to? Have you changed the formula? 

Our formulas have not changed. What has happened is a common occurrence: your nose has grown accustomed to the fragrance and therefore you don't notice it as much. To avoid this, we recommend alternating fragrances.  

I  just set up my new diffuser and all I smell is alcohol. Is this normal?  YES if you buy Alora.

When you initially set up your Alora diffuser, it will smell a bit like alcohol for a day or two as some of the alcohol in the fragrance evaporates into the air.  How lovely.

After a couple of days, the alcohol smell will dissipate and the diffuser's fragrance will be much more apparent.   About time.

Alora Diffuser Fragrance will mellow after opening after the alcohol dissipates and your Alora Ambiance reed diffuser will naturally darken as evaporation occurs. Both heat and sunlight will increase darkening. But it does look great in the closed bottle... a work of art.

Makes you just want to run out an spend $80 now doesn't it. Ok only $76..plus $12 ground shipping. Or $50 for the small bottle.

Or you could buy a oil based balanced diffuser.
