This desire is usually "TOPS" ON MOST BIRTHDAY & CHRISTMAS GIFT WISH LISTS - especially when your teen or child has some freedom to re-do thier room to meet their own tastes!

The reasons to redecorate a room are numerous:

Where do you begin?

Pick a theme.  This can be anything from a:

Should you start with bedding first or the walls?

In my opinion, it's best to start with the bedding.  Since this is usually the largest piece of furniture in the bedroom, your bed covering will have a major influence on how the room will turn out.

This may be a good time to determine if a new bed size (twin to twin XL --> full or queen) or type (bunk beds, trundle beds, day bed) is in order.

 Once that's determined, bedding choices include:

• Bed in a Bag Set

• Comforter

• Quilt

• Duvet w/ Cover

Next, it's time to address walls:

More choices!  Get your kids in on the fun of completing this chore / after all ... they will be the ones to enjoy it the most once it's completed.  They will get to experience the JOY OF CREATING THEIR OWN MASTERPIECE! Paint, wall paper or hand painted scene.

• Paint -  Is atually quite inexpensive at approximately $20 gallon. Also, a good paint store can mix the perfect shades easily by scanning a sample taken from your fabric if you want to match it exactly.  It's also fun to mix colors or repeat patterns on atleast an accent wall.

• Wall paper or wall paper border - can add a new dimension. 

• Wall size panoramic murals - Use large posters or  to enhance the theme.

Windows provide light and also need to provide privacy!

Blinds,  Shades, Curtains, Valances or some combination of these may be needed.  Using the determined theme or style, you can dress the windows in normal fashion or create a new statement.

Don't forget other types of furnishings. 

• Seating ( something casual)

• Desk
  

• Dresser / Chest of Drawer for storage
