The Healing Powers of Infinite (Chrysotile Asbestos)?

You would think that on the heals of W.R. Grace's Zonolite (expanded vermuclite contaminated with tremolite asbestos) in Libby, Montana along with on-going concerns for public exposure to naturally occurring outcrops of asbestos rocks in several California counties (e.g. Eldorado County) and the March 2009 closing of the Ash Grove Cement Co. in Helena, Montana due to tremolite asbestos contamination people would take some interest and protection from any rocks closely associated with asbestos.

You would think so but a Healing Stone known by the name Infinite is touted online by The Old Age Metaphysical Store as a 'Stone of Transition that helps past life memory and balances physical, mental & spiritual and helps clear clouded auras' is actually veins of Chrysotile asbestos in Serpentine ore.

Infinite is claimed to be first discovered by Mr. Steve Rosley, a.k.a. The Crystalmaster, who upon discovery meditated several days before giving it the name Infinite. At Mr. Bosleys webpage he even identifies the stone correctly as Serpentine with Chrysotile. Testimonials from his webpage document people massaging themselves and their loved ones (dogs included) with this asbestos-bearing rock.

The health concern is the exposure to the white veins of Chrysotile asbestos running through the green Serpentine mineral. If inhaled, asbestos fibers can lead years later to cancer and lung disease. When handling Infinite an untold number of microscopic and highly respirable fibers are released making this Healing Stone actually hazardous. Again, this rock contains fibrous asbestos and is being sold without any warnings of it's potential health hazard. If you ask Mr. Rosley (I did) about the health hazards associated with Infinite he will more than likely tell you how it is the non-barbed type of asbestos and will not stick in your lungs. If you are at all familiar with the physical properties of Chrysotile asbestos you will know that there is no such differentiation, just ask OSHA, EPA or your local Health Agency.

The simple fact is that these stones can be bought for $1.00 per pound (about 10 to 12 Healing Stones per pound) off any local rock hound in Arizona then tumbled and polished and sold individually for $5-$10.

Perhaps the sale of these stones is small compared to the millions of homes that may contain asbestos contaminated vermiculite insulation but the fact remains these rocks are being sold NOW, not in the 1940s, 50s or 60s, but today. The very mineral we spend millions of dollars to safely remove as a known health hazard is being invited back into your homes as a Healing Stone. This Healing Stone has permeated the New Age industry to the extent that there are now over 15 web accessible New Age stores selling the stone Mr. Rosley discovered. Look at the images in the eBay listings for Infinite and see for yourself the predominant white vein of Chrysotile asbestos.
