READ BEFORE BIDDING A USED LUXMAN AMPLIFIER

I've seen quite a few older Luxman amplifiers being auctioned. If the unit you desire is from early 1980's, particularly if it's of the LRS-series or M2000/4000 you'd better inquire about the old DML integrated circuits to see if they were ever replaced. These were notorious for failing. If bad, the power light will just flash forever and no sound will ever come out of the unit. The DML circuit was purposed to provide protection from DC offset in the output stage - unfortunately, the protection was sometimes worse than problem it was intended to prevent. I don't think the IC's are available anymore. Buyer beware
