RACE TRACK (Casino) SLOT TOKENS used in Ontario, Canada

                     

As RACE TRACK SLOTS were introduced to Ontario, starting in the mid 1990's, many interesting SLOT TOKENS were produced.
With OVER 10,000 MACHINES located in these facilities- that's a whole lot of tokens that were produced!
One side of each token was generally of a very simple generic DENOMINATION- while the opposite side often had a graphic of the race facilities LOGO.
The introduction of the paper TICKET IN TICKET OUT (TITO) system, has all but eliminated the use of tokens throughout Ontario.
There are currently SEVENTEEN slot machine facilities at racetracks operated by the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation

Most tokens were manufactured using a nickel composition- though some were primarily brass.
(No Bi-Metallic tokens were issued for RACE TRACK SLOTS.)
The 25¢ & $1.oo tokens were the workhorse of the gaming industry, with minimal use of the $2, and $5 denominations.
Many casinos later added 5¢ machines to their 'slot mix', and these tokens were produced in HUGE numbers.

Most tokens are still redeemable at the the CAGE- though the slot machines have been modified to no longer accept tokens.
