This guide is for people that are tired of losing auctions at the last second or for people who are just in a hurry to get their item. By using the Buy-It-Now option, you can quickly find the best price for the item you are searching for. The following technique tends to work best for items that have a lot of quantity, such as DVDs, CDs, books, and video games (but it can still be applied for other items).

The first step is to set your spending limit. For example, let's try to purchase the Batman Begins DVD. If you went to a store and bought it, it would be about $24.99 plus tax (depending on the store). So for this example, my spending limit would be about $15 including shipping.

The next step is to perform the search on eBay. The search string would be "Batman Begins DVD". However, once the results appear, click the link for the DVD at the top (listed as suggestions). This link provides all of the Batman Begins DVDs that have been placed in the correct category.

Now it is time to sort the search to our advantage. Click the "Buy-it-now" tab to the right of the "All Items" and "Auctions" tabs. Once the page refreshes, on the right side of the page, change the sort-by option to "Price: Lowest first".

Your search is now over as you can easily determine if anything fits within your budget. Don't forget to add the shipping cost to the buy-it-now price to determine the total price (hopefully, this will be done by eBay in the future). If nothing is within your spending limit, try again in a couple of days. However, I would be very surprised if you could not find something that you liked. For this example, I was able to find a DVD for $9.25 (including shipping) and a couple DVDs for around $10.
