Birds like shelter and a good supply of food to keep them warm in winter and a good idea I  am using is two boards clean and placed in a tree one over the over you can do this any way you like it is good to make it like a v shape or angle of some kind with other components and lean it over it is while some assembly is needed and depending on how you place them when good and sturdy and then just some food maybe some water,  bread or whatever you would give them is o.k. and it will draw birds and they are really neat to watch.
