I would like to talk a little about this book as I am the # 1 Quantrill Fan in the United States and #1 review on ebay . This is the frist review on ebay about this book . I have read the whole book a bunch of times and no one tells his story better then Paul .R . Petersen he gives you a real view into like a portal in to the mid 1800's 1837 - 1865 , He tells the story the real way not like the lieing morans in the history books who say Quantrill was a bad guy he was fighting for something he loved "LIFE " for the South " The southern United States all 12 " There was nothing of life 1861 thru 1865 the Civil War made more then 600,000 Men dead brother on brother and William C Quantrill was one of that 600,000 killed and he was hands down they #1 Baddest and strongest fighter in the Civil War he had down things that no man could or would have done in his time . He died at the Young age of 28 in Kentucky USA . This book is worth buying and reading over and over . It's makes it like being right there you can almost hear the gunshots and cannons going off and men yelling and horses riding you will not be able to stop reading till the end . It's a long read almost 400 pages thru it all in the end . Col. William C Quantrill and 6 capt's in his crew and his army where some of the best fighters in history in the same league as Genghis Khan ,Attalla the Hun , and King Leonidas . By Harlan Walters , Binkey2000 . July , 27 , 2008 .
