It doesn't matter if your a novice or a pro Ebay is fun & easy to do at home and can you think of an easier way to make money 24-7? Best thing is it can be part time or a full time its all up to you and your schedule.. I started Ebaying about 8yrs ago, because my ex husband left me in financial trouble.. Since then Ebay has become a way of life, I even met my current husband on the computer world..
I have said it from the beginning and I will swear to it from till the end.. Use a Lister guide to create templates and make things 100 times faster than listing one by one.. I have personally used (Mister Lister) Turbo Lister from day one, its so easy my 9yr can use it.. Once you've created a basic set-up, the photos are easily inserted just follow Ebay easy to use guide.. And be sure to set up the Andale counter page its worth it to watch the hits you get so if its not getting the exposure you want you can move it.. I like to make this a hidden option so noone but myself see's how many actual hits I've had..
Now for actually selling something, well the item & topic is up to you.. I have sold everything from cars to broken china.. I have always told people sell what they find interesting to begin with, than later branch out into things that don't necessarily know anything about.. Great thing about Ebay is that its the best research guide ever created.. Start by finding the same or similar item your listing to get the best idea of the available categories.. I personally research highest sold, ended auctions to see what the projected ending price could be..
Sometimes people ask me what to start things at.. I used to use $9.99 for everything but these days I find myself starting things at the price I am willing to sell it at if I only get one bid.. People are getting wiser they usually bid first day and the last day.. So if I don't get the hit at once, I know I might only get a single bid at times (especially on holidays, summers, etc..) Ebay is definitely vacation & holiday slow.. And I personally only list from Mon. through Thurs. between the hours of 6pm-11:30pm (central) I've been asked why? Well, for me the things I list (But car enthusiast, & doll collectors are die hards) that time schedule works best.. People are home from work.. Its usually after dinner, and I like things to end on a weekday when people are at home and on their computers (Fri-Sat people go out)
Quick tip getting shipping supplies..Up until last year the United States Postal Service used to provide free tape, boxes, preprinted return labels, and confirmation slips.. But they discontinued the tape, but if you go to USPS.com you can still get the essentials BOXES! But you have to use their service, which I also swear by.. But keep in mind most of my items fit in shoe boxes, though I am not a stranger to UPS or DHL we've even used Greyhound for larger items (but this only goes terminal to terminal and will need to be picked up at the other end) And one nice thing about USPS is that you can print and ship right from home w/ any home printer, nothing extra required.. Just fill in the information, pay for the postage with a debit or credit card and print.. And if your using plain paper, just tape the addressed information right to the package.. Nothing to it really. It even gives you a free delivery confirmation # which lets you know the item arrived at their intended zipcode..
Last basic Ebay thing to know.. Try using Paypal online credit card service it will increase your bidders spending by nearly 50%.. Remember people (women) tend to spend more when they can charge it (true fact, I'm a women, lol) I hoped this helps a few people out there, I have also created a Member group in South Florida for anyone who wants to share.. I myself, am always in search of knowledge.. And Ebay has brought so many opportunities my way from meeting new people all over the World, to bringing in extra cash both online and off.. In my spare time I teach people in their homes w/ full set-up. How to do Ebay in their spare time for a fee. (Each one of my customers have become Power sellers) And with a full set-up they can usually Ebay on their own within 2-3 days..
Ebay tips; I have learned from my own Ebay buying to always check out a sellers feedback for the most reputable seller's
-
View pictures, read descriptions, ask questions IN ADVANCE to avoid surprises in the mail, or unhappy outcomes.
-
A good seller will always be happy to help and work out any problems but you as a buyer should be realistic in your expectations.
-
Don't be too quick to leave negative feedback, as a Buyer or Seller because outside Ebay we have a life. Be patient unless the other party's NON cooperative, then contact Ebay they are always happy to help!
DID YOU KNOW? You can get "A" Buyer's or Sellers registered phone # just by contacting Ebay help sources. Try giving them a call to resolve any misunderstandings before leaving that NEGATIVE comment.
