Here is a guide to popular handbag / purse styles:

1. Hobo: Any purse with a scoop top. The most popular is the scoop top hobo bag that is soft and slouchy, with a curved bottom; though a hobo bag may be structured and have a flat bottom.Look at our hobo bags here! 
2. Dr. Bag: These handbags resemble an old-time doctor's bag, like the kind they carried on house calls.Why not have a look at our DOCTOR BAG selection?
3. Carpet Bag: Like the doctor bag, but larger. They can range in size from a small handbag to a large duffle bag. Originally made with carpet, they are now made from all fabrics, including leather and hair-on cowhide.
4. Organizer purse: A handbag that has a section to organize credit cards and cash, so there is no need for a wallet. See our organizers here! Some organizers are compartmentalized so that lipsticks and other items all have their own slots.

7. Bowling Handbag: A purse that has a shape resembling that of a bag used for a bowling ball.
8. Clutch: A bag that can be carried under the arm, or perhaps, on a wristlet strap. Fab Clutch bags!
9. Backpack, knapsack: A backpack is typically worn on the back with straps, and is larger than a purse. It is used to distribute weight more evenly across the body. Backpacks are often used by students for carrying all their essentials. It is always a great gift whether it's for the student going away to college, the youngster off to elementary school, or the new mom, who wouldn't be caught dead with an ordinary diaper bag. Some backpacks are quite small. 10. Sling: Like a backpack, but with only one strap, so the bag may be carried over the shoulder. Sometimes slings convert to true backpacks.
11. Straw Handbag: A purse made of any of a number of straw products. The handbag is most often used for trips to the beach; although, it is suitable to carry anywhere during the summer months. These purses often inject a bit of whimsy, with embellished designs, that may included beads, embroidery, and more.   Straw bags make great gifts.
