The most important factors to consider when purchasing items advertised as haunted, or promising love or good fortune, may seem like they should be whether or not you're lacking in love or money, but in reality, one should first consider their personal energy and circumstances in life.

     For instance, if your circumstances are dominated by poor health, which has in turn led to shortages in finances, your first thought in purchasing any sort of item with an "energy" or spell attached should be healing, as opposed to wealth.

     Wealth is attainable, and money is most always desirable, but oftentimes energies attached to an object may not react with yours as they have with others. The spirit world isn't so different from the material world, in that we are all entities with momentum, wills and destinies - all individualized. Spirits, humans, animals and energies all interact, and I believe they do with regularity, but as life teaches us, not all interact positively with one another.

     While we all have our individual reasons for the purchases we make, and where and when we make them, common directives should be observed before any purchase is made concerning paranormal energies; ask yourself the following questions:

• Am I prepared for the energy I'm bringing into my environment?
• Are there others in my environment who might not be as prepared?
• Is my personal energy strong, weak, or susceptible to influence?*
• Do I like this item/is it attractive to me/is there a place for it?

*This question is important, because if your energy isn't susceptible to influence, it won't be susceptible to positive energies you may be trying to obtain.

     These are also good questions to ask yourself when buying any used or vintage item, since energy often remains with objects despite physical cleansing. Whenever in question over an object in your possession, try applying any positive ritual you've used with success in the past, such as smudging, prayer, or blessings or cleansings performed by someone you trust.

     It may sound like mere common sense, and it is to an extent; after all, "stuff" in our lives abounds and collects, and often this "stuff" is purchased on impulse. Become aware of your own impulses.

     Above all, always consider your personal motivations as you would with any purchase; are you looking for a quick fix to an issue that deserves real attention, or are you seeking growth, truth or enhancement of your existing qualities?

     If  you're purchasing a haunted or "possessed" item as a gift, it should go without saying that you should consider the current energies in the recipient's life, and whether or not you're offering a gift that will benefit them.

     Seek wisdom and the energy or energies best suited to you and your lifestyle (or those of others), seek to better yourself and your circumstances through means you're comfortable with... but always seek knowledge when bringing anything new (to you) into your life and your environment.
