I've written before about SMOKING and packaging and how the odor of cigarette smoke transfers to the packaging. No, I am not on a crusade to stop people from smoking but those of us who really don't like the smell of cigarette smoke on us or in our houses need to be a bit more vigilent before bidding on items.
I am one of those who really harbor a distaste for getting packages that reek! Most smokers don't even realize that they and everything they touch has the odor of smoke. But, for some reason, I often forget to ask a seller if my package will come with that extra, added, dimension to my sale. I have just learned this again and want to remind folks that the CIGARETTE SMOKE smell is sometimes very difficult to get out of fabrics. Don't hesitate to ask a seller if they are a smoker...before you bid on their item. Just go to the auction and click on "Ask Seller a Question" (on the right side near the top of the page. Even if you still plan to bid on the item or feel that you can wash the smell out if need be, letting sellers know that we care about such a thing will sink in over time. If I were a smoking seller and knew that it was going to cause some dissatisfication, I would better store my things so as not to lose customers who may not even tell you what the problem was. You will be helping that seller by asking in the first place and making him or her aware that it is a concern.
