Hi The purpose of this guide is to help the casual seller on Ebay to understand a little more about the Pulp Magazines they are selling! What is most important to us pulp collectors how to show them in  pictures and what information is important to describe the Magazine!Due to supply and demand Hero, Detective,Mystery,Serial pulps, and 100 other titles of Pulp magazines have become popular with collectors. The war wiped out a large percent of them. There are many pulp collectors on Ebay looking for issues to fill their runs.We read them and enjoy the history of them.A lot of collectors collect them for different reasons! Some like the covers, some like the stories, some like certian authors, some like continuing heros. For this reason you have to show some of the following! 1-These magazines have spines, most all of them have the title of the magazine and date it was published on the side of the magazine. You must when selling these magazines state the condition of the spine!I bought a nice looking pulp on ebay last week it was in very good condition with NO SPINE.Dealer did not even mention the spine.2-Please when you show a picture of the covers show the whole book do not cut off the bottom or the top or sides of the book!Collectors know these books have overlap but we would like to see it and judge for ourselves the grade of the book.3- The better the grade of the book the more pictures you should put in .The easier we can tell by looking that it is a good grade the more money you will make selling the book!!4-some of the dealers put the contents page as a picture.Great Idea!!Please make it big enough to read it!!!!Authors are important to collectors some just collect issues with just their favorites, like Hubbard or Gardner or Mundy.5Always state the condition of the paper!!These were made with cheaper grade paper we know this as collectors but we would like some idea of the state of the paper when you sell it to us.White-Off white-Cream-Tan Brown but supple.Brown Brittle.6-TO the best of your knowledge has there ever been water damage.Water is the enemy to paper and some collectors just dont like water Damage!!!Is there mold or water freckles.7- Missing pieces! Most of you do a good job on this one!!8-always state the Day Month and year it was published.9-IS THE MAGAZINE COMPLETE !!!I just bought a magazine off ebay, the main story was there and the rest of the book was GONE!!Pages 67 to 95 were missing COUNT THE PAGES.!10-Last but not least PACK these books properly.I Bought a 34Shadow off of ebay the person put the book in the box loose!!Needless to say the 140.00 book became a 60.00 book real Quick due to the bouncing around in recieved. Please take two pieces of cardboard bigger than the book and cover the book with the cardboard to make the book stiff so it can servive the long postal journey.I probably missed something but these are the most inportant things I can think of.Ebay has become a great tool but it has allowed the uneducated collectable seller to get themselves in trouble when the buyer gets the book and these things were ignored!!I hope this GUIDE helps take the confusion out of selling a Pulp Magazine an item that most sellers know little about!!!Lawdan
