Puka- A Guide to Puka & Fashion
Puka For Paradise, better known as just Puka, is the brainchild of über-designer Joie Rucker. Rucker hails from the likes of Guess and Levi's, where she was V.P. of design for years. As if these credits weren't enough, she moved on with partner Sean Barron, from the line called Katayone Adeli, nearly a decade ago to start Joie Jeans. This brand has exploded in the celebrity-driven jean scene, boasting such clients as Sarah Jessica Parker, Cameron Diaz, Courtney Cox, and more.
Rucker's newest baby is Puka. This line features casual sensibles with a hip flair. A carefree island vibe is said to be present in every piece of linen or cotton clothing in this collection. Often worn on the beach or at garden parties, Puka designs are made to fit all shapes and many different sizes.
Puka's essentials include henley-style shirts, cargo pants, jeans and tanks. But although these pieces may be thought of as boring staples, the luxurious fabrics used to make each and every piece are thought to set them apart from the pack. As well, the hand detailed embroidery, added sea shells, and hidden inspirational messages on the inside of the clothing are popular with Puka devotees.
The designer believes that the key to good clothes is the fit and her fans couldn't agree more. They buy her clothing in the millions of dollars, making this company as successful as the rest of her worldwide ventures.
