The ethics of the psychic world are rather simple.  In no particular order, let's speak to ethics on this side and on the other that all psychic mediums channelers and spiritualists should adhere to.

This side & other side:

• Read only those whose permission you have to work with spiritually.  This means, if the family says they do not want a psychic to work on a case that you should not read the case.  This also means that if you don't have the family's permission that you should NOT post your reading on the internet to share the truth.  It also means that you should not take on a case on behalf of the family by someone who is sure they need the answer- ie: "I saw the case of Jon Benet Ramsey and just had to know... can you tell me?"  If this is not the Ramsey Family asking for help, then it's none of your or their business.
• If the spirit asks you not to share something then you need to keep that confidential.  This is why often an intermediary
  
• Only share the "meat" or truth that you have verified, do not complete a five minute reading for a missing persons case and tell the family the spirit has or has not passed.  It doesn't matter how good you are, until you callibrate to that spirit's energy you won't know everything or have enough true details to ascertain the whole story.  Even the best of us have to sift through things and put the puzzle together.  Family members should not hear all the gory details- particularly if the spirit does not want them to know.  Ask your guides for assistance in what needs to be shared; different family members have different needs to reach their own closure.
  
• Share with the family that this is YOUR interpretation of the energy.  They will accept it it if it is their time to accept.  You cannot force acceptance, just as you cannot stop denial.  Some spirits/ people  
• Set limits for the spirits when they com.  Do not allow them to use you as a vent for their emotions or a way to relive their life on earth.  They must come for a purpose, stick to the point and may not wander in and out on whim.  They may not use your body without their own permission.  Do not allow them to come to you and use your energy or stay earthbound for your entertainment. 
  
• If you see other things that were not specific to the reading, use the utmost ethical guidelines in sharing it.  Just because something is blurted in your head doesn't mean it needs to be shared.  You may hear names of future spouses, receive visions of death or other troublesome situations... do not share these even if you are asked unless guides as you to share them. 
  
• Always ask for guidance from the highest positive spirits available.  If you are dabbling in dark energies then you need to be open with clients.
