So here I am bored, plus I've been looking for new ps2 games myself, so I'm going to write a small guide of some of the top ps2 games, in my opinion of course, that you should buy, or look into. These games all averaged high ratings on gaming sites as well. In my mini reviews I'm not going to talk about the story much, so if you need to, look to gaming sites for that.

The first series of games that I'll talk about is the God of War series. God of War 1, and 2 are both amazing games. It combines amazing combat, which at times can be a button masher, with puzzles to make a very good game. This game is in 3rd person. Both games have reply value, because after you beat them, there are extras that you can play to unlock more. The story in the game is also interesting, it revolves around Greek Gods and Goddesses. The first God of War received multiple game of the year awards from numerous companies and websites.  If you have a ps2, you should look into these games. I'd give this series a 9.5/10.

Second series I'd recommend would be the Ratchet and Clank series. These games are just fun games, and are great. The series can appeal to any age. The games are rated T for teen, but I think any age under would be able to play it. The games revolve around a Lombax named Ratchet, and a robot named Clank, obviousely, who go on multiple missions, and face multiple enemies. The game is very creative, and features numerous weapons. You can turn people into sheep, or you could use a lava gun, and so on. The combat in the game is fun, and at times can be frustrating, but overall it is still good. If your looking for more of an easy going game, for the most part, and just a fun game, I'd recommend this series, plus the games are very cheap now. I'd give this series a 9/10.

Third series I'd recommend would have to be the Metal Gear Solid series. If you are into more stealth based game play, you might not like this series. I'm usually not into stealth games but I really enjoyed the metal gear solid series. To start things off, the story in the Metal Gear Solid games is simply amazing, and will blow your mind. There are many twists, and they are not obvious. You will probably not see them coming at all. Playing the original Metal Gear for the ps1 will help you for the story, plus the game is just as good as the ps2 series games. For game play, the game is great, it's in third person mode, and there are a lot of different weapons to use. You can shoot in third person, or go into first person mode, which is easier to aim in. The boss fights are very good, and can be quite difficult. I'd give this series a 9.5/10.

This 4th review is on a single game, and not a series. The game is Shadow of the Colossus. For most people, I think this game is either a hit or a miss. This isn't your normal game, and probably wouldn't appeal to a lot of people. In this game, all it is, is boss fights. Each boss is very unique, and it isn't fighting them that is the problem, it's figuring out how to get onto the boss. Each boss has a weak spot that you have to stab, and that is how you kill them. In the game, it is in 3rd person. It is you and your horse. The Land that the game takes place on is very big, and is beautiful to look at. The only con I can think of for this game is that in the boss fights, your fps (frames per second) can drop and the game can seem kind of jumpy/choppy. It isn't too bad, and you probably won't notice it too much. This is definitely one of my favourite ps2 games. I'd give the game a 9.5/10.
