Most PC's  give the user the option of creating a Limited User Account (LUA). Only administrators (computer owner) can create or delete a Limited User Account. This type of account does not have administrative privileges which means the account is limited to how it can be used. For example if you're on the internet browsing while using your limited user account you can't download application files, also known as executable files (.exe). It is also less likely a website or hacker will be able to upload onto your PC any executable files (which includes viruses).

Most viruses, trojans, and worms are executable files. Many are disguised as something else, or completely hidden within an otherwise benign file. I recommend creating and using a limited user account whenever you're online. You can feel confident browsing eBay and other sites knowing you have made your PC and personal files more secure by using a LUA.

One of  many good things about eBay is you can access the website while using your PC's  limited user account with no restrictions or limitations. You can do everything on eBay using your limited user account as you can with an administrative account, e.g. buy, sell, check out, etc.

Some programs on your PC make not work or perform normally when you're logged in on a limited user account, this is usually due to the application or program having been created for administrator use only. You'll have to log off your limited user account and log onto the primary administrative account to use the program.

I do not recommend working online with an administrative account even if you have anti-virus protection.  If you want maximum protection for your computer and your files while being online, I suggest creating and using a  Limited User Account, and updating your antivirus program.

To create a  Limited User Account with a Windows PC, click the Start button, choose the Control Panel, and select User Accounts, click 'Create a New Account' and follow the prompts. Thank you.
