People, please use common sense when spending your hard earned money on auctions.
BEFORE bidding, take a minute to look at the feedback history of the seller. If there are any red flags at all, like all feedbacks posted within a few hours of one another, all feedbacks from only one or two different ebay accounts, no feedbacks at all on a seller selling a rare coin for their first auction, any unexplained negative comments, etc., STAY AWAY ! DONT BID. DONT SEND MONEY !
And please do a little homework when thinking about bidding on a coin (especially from an overseas seller). Check to see if the coin you are considering bidding on is a real coin. Does that date even exist in that series ? Is it being sold too cheaply ? Do you believe in Santa Claus ?
For example., there are numerous auctions listing for trade dollars dated from before they were struck by the U.S. Folks there were NO TRADE DOLLARS IN 1798 !! There were NO Carson City Mint Marked Morgan dollars before 1878 ! Why are you bidding on them ??
You are either gonna get a counterfeit coin (which is ilegal to even posess) or you will receive nothing at all. Those are the only two possible results of sending them your money. What are you going to do, fly to China and confront the seller and ask for a refund ?
I Repeat: USE YOUR HEAD, DO YOUR HOMEWORK, DONT THROW YOUR MONEY AWAY !
