I am sure many people like myself are "blind as a bat", without our glasses or contacts on. I have a bright LED large digital clock that has a super bright mode, in order to see the time at night by my bedside. Well when the fad came out, at Christmas, ..for these Cool Projection Clocks...well..I thought Perfect! Now all I have to do is Look Up at the Ceiling, and not have to sit up and turn or fiddle around trying to find my Glasses so I can check the time in the middle of the night while in bed. So I got one, infact so did a friend of mine, and we both encountered a major problem! If the clock is sitting on your dresser or night stand, it is going to be about...5 to 4 feet from a standard 8 foot ceiling..the digits were clear and bright, (In an absolute dark room I might add...no night lights..and not after sunrise....!!) But the numerals were ONLY about 3" Tall... and there was NO WAY, without my glasses, I was going to be able to distinguish those numbers clear up on the ceiling! To make the projection digits "bigger" the clock has to have more distance..so now you have to set it on the Floor, well, who wants a clock on the floor? I even tried it going from one side of the room and hitting the opposite wall....which yes made them bigger, maybe 4"-5" tall but now the light intensity was fainter and the numbers more fuzzy, no way I was going to be able to see that! Plus the whole idea was to be able to look straight UP and see it above my head at night in bed, which is most likely, why You are considering buying one. All I can say is, if you have good decent vision, fine, get one. BUT if you have very Poor Vision, Don't Waste Your Money! (If anyone should find a projection clock that can shine a min. 6" extra bright and crisp digital time from a 5 foot distance to the ceiling, please let me know! Thanks)
