I am writing this guide based on my recent experience selling a 'Project Car' which is disassembled. Members who are not local to the auction are often bidders. They see the shipping quote offered on the eBay Motors listing and assume shipping will be easy and cheap. It's NOT. The shipping quote links off to DAS auto shippers, whom I have used before for COMPELTE and ROLLING vehiclces. They are a great and ususally inexpensive way to go, but ONLY if the car RUNS. They want to drive it onto a truck.
Disassembled cars are frieght; plain and simple. They are heavy, bulky, hard to pack and move long distances. I highly suggest sticking with local buyers. Folks I've dealt with have been quoted in excess of $2000 to ship a disassembled car from California to Missouri. That makes a $1500 'steal' on eBay not such a great deal from the buyers standpoint and I had 2 buyers refuse to buy after they got a shipping quote. Talk to your buyers and make this clear!!
