eBay continues to be the largest marketplace in the world. eBay has literally millions upon millions of registered buyers. eBay is almost always ranked in the top 20 of the internets most visited websites. eBay is, in my opinion, the leading marketplace for digitally delivered products for items like software, programs, graphics, and of course eBooks. The key to being a successful eBook seller on eBay is using smart strategy to turn eBays buyers into eBook buyers.

Many people ask me if it is possible to make a profit selling eBooks on eBay. My answer is always yes, but I always say that it takes really smart strategy. eBooks in eBay stores sell for as little as 1 dollar. eBooks that are sold at auctions can literally be sold for just 1 cent. If you figure in eBay fees and PayPal fees the margin of profit is low. You can see why a large number of new eBook sellers get frustrated and quit or why many never attempt to sell eBooks or digital products on eBay. There is, though, a large number of eBook sellers on eBay who have found smart strategies that make them a very steady amount of profits.

The mistake that most eBay eBook sellers make is in regards to resale rights eBooks. A large number of eBook sellers on eBay are essentially selling the exact same product. Most of the resale rights eBooks sold on eBay are about making money online. This means that one eBook is listed by hundreds of sellers. In order to sell these eBooks, you are forced to lower prices and sell them at auction for less than 1 dollar. You have to sell thousands of eBooks every week to make money when the profit is less than 50 cents a piece. In some cases, eBooks sold on eBay actually represent a loss for that seller. Also, inside those eBooks are links from the original author.

The best way to make profit by selling eBooks on eBay is to develop your own products. Writing your own eBook means that it has your own personality inside. It also means that all the links inside the eBook are yours and making you money. You also can have links to your autoresponder series. If writing your own eBook is something you aren't comfortable with, you can have eBooks ghostwritten. You can also invest in a Private Label Rights collection that allows you to take credit for the material. Ghostwriting and Private Label Rights are a great way for a new seller to get started and develop their own ideas for writing their own eBooks.

If the product is your own, it is very possible to sell the eBook for a loss on eBay and turn it into a very nice profit. If the buyer signs up for your newsletter, clicks on one of your links, or buys from one of your affiliate programs you make more money than you ever could with a 1 dollar eBook written by someone else.
