A newer binding type, Proclick binding is very popular among salespeople and marketing executives because of its modern look and functional recloseable format. Because Proclick binding allows you to easily add and remove pages, it is an effective solution for those in sales and training. Its 360-degree rotation allows for easy reading and photocopying. This article offers background information and tips to get you started with GBC Proclick binding.

While Proclick binding systems come with a special zipper tool to aid in opening and closing the rings, sometimes it is a little troublesome. If you have problems using the zipper tool, you may want to close the rings by hand. If you want to try using the tool, it will be easier to close the rings with it if you try closing the first few rings and flattening the spine by hand first. Like all things, using the Proclick zipper will get easier with practice. Even if you choose not to use the tool for closing the rings, you should keep it around for opening documents you need to update.

You may be tempted to buy a lower-quality Proclick binding machine, but there is no reason to sacrifice quality when you can buy a wire binding machine for about the same price. These machines are usually well built and will give you more options as you will be able to use the machine to bind documents using both Proclick and twin loop wire binding styles . This is possible because both pieces of equipment are based on the identical hole patterns known as 3:1 pitch (three holes per inch). It doesn’t make sense to settle for one lower quality binding system when you can have two good ones for the same price.

Proclick spines  come in three sizes and can bind documents up to 5/8” thick. If your document is larger than that, you can look into using comb binding, coil binding, wire binding, or thermal binding formats. If you have a wire binding machine with an integrated wire closer that you also use to punch holes for your Proclick binding, you have the option of using twin loop wire. If you don’t, you could use color coil, which is also available in 3:1 pitch.

For last minute changes to documents, you can open Proclick binding using the zipper tool or a pen. For a portable hole-punching solution, you can purchase a P50 punch for quick updates anywhere. You can also afford to purchase zipper tools for the entire sales staff since they cost less than a dollar.

For those who bind a high volume of Proclick documents, Pronto is a time-saving piece of equipment that automates the insertion and closing of the spine. Pronto works only with standard sized covers.

Proclick binding is a popular binding solution because of its neat look and flexibility in allowing you to update documents. Remember these simple tips, and you will be well on your way to becoming a Proclick veteran.
