If you are using ANY of the USPS shipping label systems online such as the USPS click n' ship or the Paypal Multi-Order Shipping or simply printing labels from the auction page itself you probably have gotten this message:
"Invalid shipping address"
"Zip code does not match address" Something like that. LOL. Not sure the exact wording at this moment.
Your page either locks up on you or simply wont let you print a label.
Here is what you do:
Click Edit address and simply change any of the following items:
(street / str. / str / st.) these all get St
(road / rd.) change to Rd
(drive / dr. ) change to Dr
(avenue / ave. / av) change to Ave
(Apt # / # / Apartment / suite / ste / Row / floor / Lot) and others that are similar go to "Address 2" line
(P.O. Bx / PO bx. ) change these to "PO box"
A question I get often from sellers:
Q: "it changes the address from "confirmed" to "unconfirmed". How can I still be covered??
A: This doesn't matter at all. These are simply typing issues and not address changes. In some cases, Too many spaces cause this error. You can do nothing about it. Until they make all addresses standardized when buyers enter their information this will continue.
What if you get the error where it says that the zip code is incorrect and you contact the buyer and they say "This is my address's Zip Code and has been for years, I get packages here every week". Perhaps this is true but many times they are not even aware that their zip code has been changed. Have them call their local PO and tell them the situation. EVERY single time this has happened they email me back saying that they PO made some change and the new is correct. They will more than likely still get tons of mail with their old zip code on it for at least a year, and then one day realize, "Hey, Ive been putting the wrong zip code on my Christmas cards and bills" it happens. Not a big deal but I always contact the buyer so they are aware of it.
The PO owns your zip code, They create them and believe it or not, they change them and realign areas all of the time as communities grow. They dont put a big sign on your door saying that your zip codes is changing by 1 number or so. They may do this is some areas but not any of the people I have dealt with on this issue.
Once again, I am no English professor, so there may very well be spelling errors on here. My concern is getting the information out there.
This WILL help you and keep the stress low so go ahead and vote "YES" since I know it works. LOL.. email me if you have any questions or comments. Thanks
