Yes, It Works!

If you've ever seen the info-mercial on T.V. or gotten an advertisement for Proactive Solution in the mail, you know they make some pretty large claims about it's effectiveness. For me the claims turned out to be all true. While Proactive didn't make me look like Vanessa Williams, or Jessica Simpson, it did make my skin acne free. I'm thirty-something woman who has suffered from moderate to severe acne since I was about 12 years old. When I was twelve, when I was sixteen, and even twenty-one, I was promised there would be a day it would clear up on it's own. That day never came.

Around the time I turned thirty, I ordered my first Proactiv kit after seeing the info-mercial on T.V. The $40 bucks plus shipping that it cost at the time seemed expensive to me, but I figured compared to all the money I had spent over the years on over the counter as well as prescription treatments, both external and in the form of pills, I would spring for the $50.

I used the kit twice a day as directed for about 2 weeks. My thirty something skin began to become dry, so I cut it down to once a day. Once a day did not dry out my skin, and it did become noticeably clearer within the first couple of weeks. By the end of one month, most of the large painful acne was gone. By the end of 3 or 4 months my skin was clear and I was left only with the scarring that is inevitable after 20 plus years of acne ravaged skin. If I had Proactiv available when I was thirteen, I wouldn't have those scars at all. So, if you are considering buying this for your teen, but the $50 for a kit seems like too much to invest, it isn't! I buy Proactiv for my 13 year old son, who already has some acne, and I make sure he uses it, just like I make sure he brushes his teeth.

Once the painful, ugly acne was gone, I suddenly noticed I had some fine lines around my eyes. My acne was such a problem, I hadn't even noticed them. Unwilling to put anything on my face that might clog pores and cause an outbreak, I decided to try the Proactiv Daily Moisture. This product also contains a sunscreen. Amazingly once I began wearing a sunscreen daily, the scars began to fade. Today, they are not completely gone, only laser treatments could achieve that, but they are much lighter.

My next amazing discovery was the Proactiv Clarifying Night Cream with Retinol. Retinol is one of the ingredients in the expensive designer wrinkle creams. It has improved the elasticity of my skin, and I also think it works to make the scars lighter.

No, I don't look like Jessica Simpson. Maybe some day Proactiv will come out with a fat fighting cream that works as well as their acne treatment. But, my skin is clear, and people who don't know me always assume I am 5-10 years younger than I am. So, for me Proactiv is worth every penny I pay for it, and more. But, the great thing is that now, I don't need to use all the Products in the kit every day. I use the Renewing Cleanser once a day to clean my skin. I use the Toner and Moisturezer once a day because they moisturize. But, I really don't need the Reparing Lotion every day anymore. As you go through the process, you will discover what combination works for you.
