I am a seller who has taken a few months break from here and I came back to find that my new auction (a very large portion of my daycare equipment-items) is showing private bidder id's.  What is up with that?  This site, obviously, has implemented a new change in my recent absence ... one that I certainly DO NOT APPRECIATE!  Why can't seller's have a choice on whether or not to use 'private' bidder ID.  I, as a buyer, prefer NOT to bid on these type of auctions for fear of unscrupulous sellers that use illegal shill bidding practices to drive up the bidding.  Don't the buyer's have the right to make informed decisions on where we spend OUR money anymore?  I've always done my research when choosing between seller 1 and seller 2 and I go with what I consider to be my best choice.  Before, I felt like I WAS able to make a better-informed decision based on the knowledge that USED to be available.  How is it possible to research this vital information without having bidder id's available?  Feedback isn't always a true picture - many people fear leaving a negative due to retaliation so don't leave anything - or they've been threatened so they remove it after leaving it.  Unfortunately, extortion is rampant on this site.  I think the problem of unscrupulous people trying to send 2nd chance offers is ridiculous!  WHY NOT JUST ELIMINATE THE 2nd CHANCE OFFER INSTEAD OF MAKING BIDDING IDs PRIVATE - UNLESS BY CHOICE OF THE SELLER?  Because, now, as a result, honest sellers (who do NOT mind showing their bidder id's) are actually being penalized because some people will prefer not to deal with us and move on.  THIS DEFINITELY AFFECTS HONEST SELLERS AUCTION PRICES.  I already see this affecting my auction.  I will definitely be revising my auction in some way to encourage buyers - I'm just not sure how yet - maybe I'll take it off and list it all in the swap sheet? (Still thinking on that).  I can tell you that if it isn't past the very low reserve price that I set (soon), I will be tempted to find another venue to sell my goods and this site will be the one losing out on my selling price fees - along with other fees from my big ticket items that I 'would have' sold in the future.  I can sell them on another venue (swap sheet, my own website, other auction sites).  This place is NOT the only auction site around and if they are making me look less legitimate (to certain bidders) due to their private bidder id's then count me out!  I don't need it.  I DO NOT LIKE GETTING FORCED into having private bidder id's.  I STRONGLY feel that this will discourage many bidders from trying to bid on my auction.  This is not right!  The sellers should be given a choice - ESPECIALLY since it directly affects our sale!  I have NOTHING to hide so please - show my bidder id's!
