To Find A Primitive Folk Art Doll or even a pattern to make a prim doll...try eBay...what a great place to shop....For a beginner sewer just learning...you can find alot of patterns.....Designers patterns are full of great instructions and will be happy to help you with questions you may have...

Keywords for finding what you are looking for...try things like....Primitive Doll Pattern

Primitive Doll Patterns sold direct from the Artist

Give Credit for the design to the artist as a nice curtosy....

A Few Things To Look For In A Pattern

Pictures, Instructions, Pattern for doll and clothing..Tip and Methods are nice especially for a bonus...

Completing Your Pattern and making your doll...Items you will need...

Doll bodies are made from some type of cotton or blended fabric as your base, of course you will need material for the clothing and accessories...the pattern should show what is needed on the back cover or inside the pattern itself...usually all these items can be found at your local fabric shop or retail discount shop...and dont forget there are so many shoppes here on EBay you can shop and find almost everything you need and have it shipped to your door.

You will need a very good quality of stuffing...and something that will not break down over the years. You want to make a collectible doll that will stay good for years to come. I dont recommend using food such as dried rice or whatever as you may have problems with your doll not holding up over the years..

Thread....just as you can remember your grandmothers making their quilts that have been around for hundreds of years...its all about the quality of fabric and thread...I good cotton thread is always a great choice...and go for strength in a thread to make sure it will hold up...

You will need paints and you can find almost any acrylic color you need or you can even use oils, pastels, watercolors...so many choices out there...its your doll you can use the paint you like...

A good sewing machine is a must..but you can sew everything by hand...our great grandmothers did it...and although it may take some extra time...the doll you make will be yours creative art and you decide how they will turn out...So enjoy making your doll and if you need help ask the designer...if you need additional help ...just do a search the information is there..just ask...

have a great day and if I can help you just ask...Rhonda
