Tired of toys that break or malfunction soon after purchase? Looking for toys that will keep your child's interest? Want toys to stimulate your child's development? The earliest years of life are very important for future academic, social and spiritual development. Choosing your preschooler's toys carefully will help to give him the best preparation possible. Whether your child attends a  preschool or is taught at home, educational toys make learning fun!

Choose classic, well-made toys to nurture your child and him a great start in life. Here are some examples of high quality educational toys:

  • Lacing beads
  • Lacing cards
  • Wooden puzzles
  • Wooden doll house with family
  • Nesting, stacking cups or shapes
  • Shape sorters
  • Wooden train and track sets
  • Building toys such as wooden building sets or age-appropriate Legos
  • Wooden blocks with the alphabet and numbers on them
  • Miniature musical instruments (as much like the adult versions as possible)
  • Collapsible tents for indoor or outdoor use
  • Large balls
  • Sandbox or sand and water table
  • Climbing/Sliding outdoor playsets
  • Ride-on vehicles (non-motorized)
  • Miniature household items for role-playing (broom, mop, kitchen utensils and more)
  • Books, books and more books! Read aloud some books slightly above the child's level, perhaps while he is playing quietly with another toy. Make reading time a treasured time in your home.

What about the cost of high-quality toys? By purchasing classic, well-made toys you will usually save money over the long run because that toy will not only be used by your other children, but the re-sale value will be high such that you can sell it (for instance on eBay!) once you no longer need it. It is such a nice feeling when you watch your children play with a treasured toy for years! Spend the money if you have to but always be on the look-out for great deals. Retail store sales, garage sales, thrift stores and of course online auction sites are all possible sources of good bargains on great toys.

Treat your child to the very best. Invest in high quality educational toys.
