West Elm is a cousin of Pottery Barn, Pottery Barn Kids, Pottery Barn Teen, Restoration Hardware, Williams-Sonoma and Williams-Sonoma Home. Although the items at West Elm are generally considerably less, some items are worth a second look.
An example of how to save money, but still stay within the same product line, would be the Dupioni Silk Drapes offered by West Elm and Pottery Barn. The West Elm drape is 35% less, with very few differences.
Pictured above are the West Elm drape panels. The color on the ivory drape is identical to Pottery Barn's. The West Elm drape is two inches narrower than the drape from Pottery Barn. Additionally, the lining is sewn differently and is died to match the silk. These differences may have you wanting the original, however, if you'd like to save some money, you can get virtually the same look for considerably less.
To really be a smart shopper and save additional money, purchase West Elm from an eBay store!
