Feedback to sellers is a very important thing. Ebay bases a lot of things on feedback including powerseller status, ranking in search results and even final value fees. Leaving feedback for your seller is one of the most important things you can do as a buyer - not only to let your opinion about the transaction be known, but also to make Ebay a safer and more trusted marketplace for other buyers. The following is a scenario that happens often in my home, and I'm sure for other sellers as well. Please leave feedback, it is an important part of the Ebay community's stability and potential for continued growth (which benefits all of us!! :D ).
So, with anticipation I right click to open my feedback in a new tab ... my lips are dry and palms, sweaty. I wonder if I should go get a glass of water before diving in. Maybe I should get up and shake out the jitters with a couple of jumping jacks or yoga moves.
No, I tell myself, I just am going to do it. I'm going to look. I mentally prepare as I reach for my mouse. The Earth stops spinning, the birds hover in midair. The neighbor's sprinkler floats bulbs of water in the air at center of the lawn ... the world ... stands still.
And then, after taking a big breath, and blowing out slowly through my mouth, I gingerly click on the new tab. The sound of the click shatters the silence, the stillness of the air. I realize my knuckles are white with tension.
And then ... I see it. The words, there on the screen.
[Ahhhhh, ahhh, ahhhhh choir singing, light shining in through the windows, gentle wind blowing through my hair]
There it shines [music builds] that glowing feedback that makes me want to jump up and hug the world. The birds resume their flight, the water splashes onto the grass and somehow, I'm not so thirsty anymore.
I want to grab the person and hug them, and jump up and down and yell to the world THANK YOU, THANK YOU ALL!!! I call my young children into the room, and I say -- look at what Mommy got! Positive Feedback! [high fives all around]
Then, as we hug and rejoice, tears of joy streaming down our faces, I think ... when did I become such a nerd?
