Buying Litronic headlamps off of ebay. buyer beware
my experience with one of the ebay crazy's
I purchesed headlights from porschecaps and the guy sent me two driver side headlamps. They were packed so poorly that they were both scratched. I talked to the guy and he initially seemed really helpfull, however he wouldn't believe me that he had made a mistake.
His paranoia that i and everyone else were out to try and scam him was inflaimed by every conversation that we had regarding finding a solution. He believed that i had switched out the headlights his inacurate presumtion is that everyone has sets of headlights hanging around like himself, and would be as unethical as himself
This guy was such a parinoid nut case i ultimately had to file with paypal and they forced him to pay me my money back once i shipped him his headlights back.
I lost some shipping costs and a great deal of time. The time i obsessed over the idea that i had been scamed out of a grand, alone was the greatest cost.
I would never attempt to buy used autoparts on ebay again. The product type/complexity is too open for unethical people who can exploit the limitations of the consumer.
- what i ultimatly learned is that if you want them for $900 then you probibly want them without hassle for $1300. Spend the money, you can buy them new from any number of websites that have them for sale for approximatley $1300.
- they always go for approx $900 on ebay.
- they ebay ones never include the wireing harness so that you can get the auto adjusting high beam. you will end up with a poorly done job.
- the installation is more difficult than what is implied by the guys selling the headlights, if you are going to do it correctly with the wireing harness modifications.
