Brightly decorated their Chinise inscriptions identified the gaming house, and denoted their value.Primarly intended for the gaming houses,the jeton were acceptable in the locality as smoll change.

       If a proprietor closed his gaming house, he was obliged to send a servant round the district,beating a gong and inviting anyone with porcelain jeton to exchange them for cash
