My first macbook purchase with ny.queens
I have been an avid eBay-er since 2005 and have had very pleasant transactions with sellers throughout the country and world however this macbook I received the first week of September was enough for me to write about:
Ok so I was willing to overlook the semi-broken trackpad clicker and the yellowed LCD bezel oh and uhh...the fact it took 3 weeks for him to mail the macbook out. But I took the red casing Mr. ny.queens put on the macbook and man oh man is this thing SCRATCHED TO HIGH HEAVENS....Seriously...The LCD casing looks like ice at a hockey rink after 12 hours of kids trying to skate on it. ON TOP OF EVERYTHING ELSE, I decided to clean off the screen and LOOK WHAT WE HAVE HERE!!! IT'S A NICE LIL SCRATCH ON THE SCREEN! Apparently it's deep enough to make the pixels disperse across a 4 inch section of the screen. Needless to say I filed an "Item significantly not as described" claim with paypal. This is just........Ridiculous.......Mind you I paid $800 for this MacBook.
Well I can't say that I'm not surprised this laptop is in such poor condition because of what I had to deal with the seller already. I also really loved the fact the screen flickers for the first 3 minutes of the computer running too...It's not too bad of a flicker, just noticeable enough for it to be REALLY annoying. After receiving nasty, incriminating emails from him saying I was a deadbeat scammer (Apparently he had to wait 12 hours for payment, so I'm a deadbeat scammer.) paypal refunded my money. However it didn't stop him from leaving feedback, saying I was a scammer and people should "Avoid me at all costs". Ironic how he lost his eBay account to all of it, no? The point of all of this is BUYER BEWARE. If you are willing to pay a large portion of money for anything on eBay, make SURE you are paypal protected up to $2000.
