Get To Know Our Underwear...
NOTE: All the polypropylene items we sell are NEW and NEVER WORN...These items are worn as UNDERWEAR and it is unhygienic to purchase and wear USED pieces!
Polypropylene Insulated Thermals
Polypropylene is the most superior insulated underwear on the market and this guide is designed to explain why. It will give you a brief education on polypropylene and why it is so effective that even the US MILITARY uses it. The guide will provide you with images to help see some of the different styles available in this amazing product and will hopefully clear up some of the myths you have heard.
I guess I should start with some personal background so you know why I feel qualified to write this guide. My family has been in the textile business for more than 30 years. We are considered to be the number on supplier of Expedition Weight Polypropylene Fleece Underwear to the US Military.
We are proud to be a 100% American Company. We are located in Montgomery, Pennsylvania, in the beautiful Appalachian Mountains just south of Williamsport, Home of the Little League World Series. Everything we use to make and package our products comes from US companies.
What Thermal Conductivity is your underwear???
Did you know that polypropylene has the LOWEST thermal conductivity rating (6) of all commercial fibers? This is a good thing...a very good thing! Without getting too technical, thermal conductivity ratings are a way of judging how warm a product (fabric) will be able keep you. This rating makes polypropylene the warmest of all commercial fibers.
Fabric Thermal Conductivity
Polypropylene 6.0
Wool 6.4
Acetate 8.6

Cotton 17 SWICOfil
The lower the rating the better.
Who Wants Soggy Undies??? Yuck!
What do you hate the most when you are out and about in the cold weather...being WET! This is where polypropylene can be your night in shining armor. I am sure you have heard the sales pitches that tell you polypropylene WICKS the moisture form your skin, well I am here to tell you THEY ARE WRONG! Polypropylene does not wick, IT TRANSPORTS moisture. There is a major difference between these two...the difference between being wet and dry. Wicking implies that it basically absorbs the moisture and that is not what polypropylene does. Wicking would leave you with a wet piece of material against your skin like cotton would. Polypropylene's ability to transport the moisture away form the skin leaves you pleasantly dry. The moisture is pulled through polypropylene and absorbed into your outer layers, hence no wet clothing against your skin...NO SOGGY UNDIES! Wow, staying dry is half the battle in staying warm.
Polypropylene Basics
-
Used by the US Military as the first layer of their Extreme Cold Weather Condition System (ECWCS)
-
Has the lowest thermal conductivity of all commercial fabrics.
-
Transports moisture away from the skin to keep you dry when worn properly. (Must be worn directly against the skin...no boxers, briefs, thongs, or panties...this is your underwear. Anywhere you have something between you and the polypropylene will be cold and wet.)
-
Easy to care for: Machine Wash Cold, Hang To Dry (Since polypropylene is a plastic derived synthetic fiber you want to keep it out of the dryer...heat bad, very bad...if you really want to use the dryer just turn the heat off and use the fluff cycle. HIGH DRYER TEMPERATURES WILL RUIN POLYPROPYLENE!)
-
It comes in a few different weights as well as styles. Expedition weight fleece is the heaviest and is what the military uses, the medium and light weight versions are usually a rib style. (Even the light weight is rated to good down to 0 degrees farenheit.)
-
Sturdy, this stuff lasts a long time when cared for properly.
-
You hear the fleece and you think lining, you probably even heard it referred to as a lining, and now your thinking...but I am not supposed to wear anything under it. FEAR NOT, unlike most places advertise there is NO LINING. The fleece just refers to the finish of the fabric, meaning it has been brushed on the inside to feel soft like fleece.
-
Anti-Microbic...resists mildew, stains and soils. So if you shove it in you pack with your other damp or wet clothes and forget it for a week or two when you pull it out, wow no mildew. Wish you could say the same for your favorite camp fire flannel shirt.

WARNING:
Know what you are buying. Most companies are selling you seconds at outrageous prices. Manufacturers sell off their seconds to other companies (that is what we do) so make sure to find out if the products you are buying are indeed FIRST QUALITY GOODS. It never hurts to ask...even if you are buying straight from the manufacturer...if it doesn't say it is a first quality good then ask.
Make sure the products you buy are NEW and not used...These items are designed to be worn directly next to your skin and it is considered unhygenic and against eBay policy to sell used underwear.
