Hi there, as most of you may or may not already know, there are a variety of ribbon is the market these days. Me, being a ribbon seller on eBay would like to share some of the tips I have learnt along the way. Well, lets start with the basic 6mm Satin Ribbons.
Many people out there are selling Polyester Satin Finished Ribbons. Yes, they are cheap and affordable for most of us. When I started to sell ribbons, I too found the cheapest supplier for these ribbons and was selling them. But one day after browsing through a new suppliers stock, I found his 6mm ribbons much softer than the ones I sell.
Yes, they were Nylon Satin Double Edge Finished ribbons! And the price was a little bit more than the cheap polyester/satin single face finish.
So, from that day onwards, I changed my supplier to the new guy as I wanted my customers to have the best quality ribbons from us!

My tip: Don't be fooled by the word Polyester Satin Finished. Ask the seller always. Because when you are making top quality items like cards or for sewing, you would want the best quality for your products and your customer. End of the day, when a customer is happy, he/she will return for more.
Most sellers would be selling Polyester-Satin-Finished-Single-Face ribbons. Usually, the top part of the ribbon would be satin finished. I am assuming they do not know much about ribbons, but if they do and mention it, then it's all good.
If you ask me, most sellers would just sell them for the sake of selling. I once did that but found out that a little extra research on your products won't kill you, but it would have a better advantage on your products selling and your customers would sleep easy. So, there we go.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me as I will try my very best to help you.
Regards,
Lilian
