I received my Pollyanna Doll the Christmas of 1962, Pollyanna was introduced the previous Christmas.  My parents got her the after Christmas clearance sale and kept her hidden for the entire year.  It still takes my breath away to remember how I felt when I walked into our Living Room and Christmas morning and saw her standing in front of the tre.

Pollyanna was a replica of the part played by Hayley Mills in the movie also titled Pollyanna.  She was the child of missionaries as I recall.  Pollyanna stands approximately 31 inches tall.  She wears a red checked dress with matching pantaloons.  Both dress and pantaloons are trimmed in lace.  Her skirt has an attached slip with matching lace peeking out from underneath her hem.  She also wore white socks, black "patent leather" shoes and spits and had the jauntiest little straw hat tipped rackishly to one side.  She has beautiful blond hair in curls everywhere, gorgeous blue "sleep eyes" and just absolutely perfect make-up. 

If you lift her hair up in back, she should be stamped "Uneeda".  If she does not contain this stamp, she is not the real deal.  She did come in a box which I did not know until I purchased one a few weeks ago.  I have my original Pollyanna away to a close friend's daughter when I was in my early 20's.  I felt almost like I did that Christmas Day years ago when I opened my parcel from UPS containing my new Pollyanna Doll.  Oh, the wonderful memories seeing her again brought back!!!

I have the picture my father took of me with Pollyanna that wonderful Christmas morning so very many years ago and will upload it to this review so that you can get an idea of how she originally looked.  I'll try to add to this as I research and find out more information.
